Friday Progress Update, November 24: "Roadtrips"

Hey, guys, happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate that! Happy Friday either way.

I'm standing here before you today with another Friday Progress Update in my hand. And the update is that ... I'm done with the update!

Not DONE done. Done with the renders and code and everything, but I haven't playtested it yet. So there's potentially a bunch of stuff to fix, and even if there isn't, a bunch of playtesting to do.

In fact, let me run it right now for the first time!

Ops. Missed a colon up there, and also to missed to indent after the if statement. Easy fixes!

Let's run it again. Wow, running smooth, running smooth.

Oops. That's not the correct name for that variable. Another easy fix!

There, let's run it. The third time is the charm. Running even smoother. No hiccups, no errors, nice-

Shit. Right. I use ash, not ashley. But I use jasmine, not jas. WHY? Well, I guess I'll have to get right on that!

What you see here is stage one of playtesting. Getting the script to just run through without stopping anywhere. After that, it's the deeper playtesting to check so that all variables are checked and changed correctly. Then finally the actual playtesting, does the game make sense and all that. This last stage can involve renders/re-renders or some rewriting.

So if you're wondering what I'm doing, it's this. As soon as that's all done, the update is release ready!
