Friday Progress Update, June 28: "Simply the Bethst"

Hello!

It's another hot summer Friday. Phew. Grab some ice cream before settling down to read this week's progress update.

The release went reasonably well. A couple of typos and an image with some clothes clipping into Miko were reported. Those will be fixed in the next update. handful of new supporters also dropped in. Welcome. Much love!

So what am I working on now? Well, Beth of course. To be specific, the script for the next, entirely Beth-centric update. I did a little poll on content for it, and this was the result (Patreon+Subscribestar):

1. All of the above (the below,3-9). 2. A glimpse of some other girl. 3. Riding creampie. 4. Backdoors creampie. 5. Licking them balls. 6. Take Beth for a walk with no pants (I didn't specify who!) 7. But bring them handcuffs. 8. Some finger banging action. 9. Hawk tuah. No love for the meme.

No surprises really, except I thought the hawk tuah would get more votes for shits and giggles. So how large will the next update be? Originally I had planned the part for each girl for the last update would be 100-150 renders, but it ended up at 200 on average for the others, so 200 is our floor.

I'm writing on the script and it can give a clue. It's a very rough way to count, but the latest update had a script file of 130k and 596 renders. So, maybe 20k per 100 renders, or thereabouts. I'm currently at 30k and not near the finishing line, so 200+ renders are a given. Perhaps I'll shoot for 300. I'd like to release it in July, but that's also a big wish list up there to cover. There will almost certainly be some sex-scene-split-paths to the joy of Awaken.

Okay, enough of that, I do want to talk about two people. Joe Biden and Donald Trump. JUST KIDDING.

First of all, Sandra. She received a healthy amount of hate in comments. Good I say, mission accomplished as this was the first thing I wanted to achieve with her. A bitchy, spoiled girl with a killer body. I guess that wasn't so difficult.

The challenge will be to steer it from here into someone you desire - someone you want to seduce or dominate, someone the player wants to get lewd with in various ways.

And then the third step, someone who will be missed when she dies in a fire (kidding, or?).

Secondly, Charles. Ah, Charles.

He was never going to last, I knew that from the start. We need the house for the later parts of the game. That he's moving to Alaska wasn't the original plan though, and I'll tell you right here and now what was:

I had two thoughts. The first was that he'll be killed by bad guys gunning for the MC. I dropped this idea fairly early as I didn't like the implications and what it'd do to the MC's state of mind, guilt and so on.

The longer-lasting idea was that he'd die in a freak accident. I even set it up. Do you remember him telling the earthquake story when a toy piano fell of a shelf and hit him in the head? Well, I was going to have him be crushed by a falling piano when walking down the street. A snapped rope and so on.

I didn't drop it because Charles turned out a pretty nice guy, and became popular with players. That is, if anything more reason to kill him. A death without emotional impact, what is that worth?

But then I saw before me all the writing I'd have to do around it. Beth's feelings of guilt, the MC's, all the sad talks, and whatnot. I just didn't want to spend time on that. It would set back Beth+MC too far. So, Charles gets to live. Yay for Charles.

Well, this dragged on and became a novel on its own. There were some questions but I'll leave those for next week and write some more script. I don't know about non-lewd previews for the next update. I'd have to come up with some scene where Beth actually have clothes on.
